De Novo Bookkeeper Privacy Policy

Effective July 8, 2026. Operated by De Novo Digital, Corp. ("De Novo," "we," "us").

1. What this application is

The De Novo Bookkeeper is internal accounting software operated by De Novo Digital, Corp. It connects to De Novo's own QuickBooks Online company to record transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly closes. It is not offered to the public, it is not a multi-tenant service, and the only QuickBooks company it connects to is De Novo's own.

2. Information the application accesses

With De Novo's authorization through Intuit's QuickBooks Online API, the application accesses De Novo's own accounting data: transactions, accounts, journal entries, invoices, and financial reports. It also processes bank and card transaction data that De Novo imports from its own financial institutions to categorize and post against those accounts. It does not access data belonging to any other business, and it is not used to build profiles of, or make automated decisions about, any individual.

3. How we use it

The data is used only to operate De Novo's own bookkeeping: categorizing and posting transactions, reconciling balances, generating close workpapers, and supporting tax and audit preparation. It is not used for advertising or marketing, and it is never sold.

4. How we store and protect it

API credentials (OAuth tokens) are held in an access-controlled secrets vault and scoped to this application alone. Processing runs on De Novo-controlled systems, and data in transit is protected with TLS. Working accounting data is retained for as long as required for accounting, tax, and audit purposes (approximately seven years), after which it is deleted. When the connection is disconnected, stored credentials are revoked and deleted.

5. How we share it

We do not sell, rent, or trade this data. We may disclose it to De Novo's accountants and auditors in the course of preparing De Novo's books, to service providers acting on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, and where required by law. Data accessed through QuickBooks is also processed by Intuit under Intuit's own terms and privacy policy.

6. Third-party services

The application relies on Intuit QuickBooks Online (the accounting system of record) and on De Novo's own financial institutions (the source of imported transaction data). Their handling of data is governed by their respective privacy policies.

7. Disconnecting

De Novo may revoke this application's access at any time from within QuickBooks Online. On disconnection, the application's stored access tokens are deleted and it can no longer reach the QuickBooks company.
